Materials Needed:

  • LED light bar: Choose a light bar that's compatible with your truck's mounting location and power requirements.
  • Wiring harness: This will provide the necessary connections between your truck's electrical system and the LED light bar.
    • All of our light bars come with a deluxe wiring harness, but we also have wiring harnesses that can be purchased separately.
  • Relays and fuses: These components will protect your truck's electrical system and ensure proper operation of the LED light bar.
    • Our light bars include a deluxe wiring harness that already includes a relay and fuse.
  • Tools: You'll need a variety of tools, including a screwdriver, wire cutters, wire strippers, and a multimeter.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Choose a Mounting Location: Decide where you want to mount the LED light bar. Common locations include the roof, bumper, or grille. Ensure the location is secure and won't obstruct your view.
  2. Install the Mounting Brackets: Attach the mounting brackets to the light bar and then secure the brackets to your truck. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for specific mounting details.
  3. Connect the Wiring Harness: Connect the wiring harness to the LED light bar. This typically involves plugging the harness into a connector on the back of the light bar.
  4. Locate the High Beam Wire: Use a multimeter to identify the wire that controls your truck's high beams. This wire is usually located in the headlight assembly or fuse box.
  5. Connect the Relay: Connect one end of the relay's coil wire to the high beam wire. Connect the other end of the coil wire to a power source (e.g., battery or ignition).
  6. Connect the Power and Ground: Connect the power wire from the relay to the positive terminal of the LED light bar. Connect the ground wire from the relay to a good ground point on your truck.
  7. Connect the Trigger Wire: Connect the trigger wire from the relay to the negative terminal of the high beam wire. This will activate the relay when the high beams are turned on.
  8. Add a Fuse: Install a fuse in the power wire to protect the LED light bar and your truck's electrical system.
  9. Test the Installation: Turn on your high beams and check if the LED light bar illuminates. If not, inspect your connections and consult the wiring diagram.

Note: If you're unsure about any of these steps or if your truck has a complex electrical system, it's recommended to consult a professional mechanic.
